DIC Concludes the Code Camp4 and Announces 5 Winners
The Digital Incubation Center (DIC), at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology(MCIT), has concluded the fourth edition of the Code Camp hackathon, which was held from September 7th to the 9th of 2023, at the Sport Accelerator in Aspire Zone, Doha. The DIC announced the victory of 5 teams that competed in five user cases.
Over three days, 130 participants from several countries gathered with the goal of software development, enhancing creativity, and problem-solving using technology. The current edition of the camp served as a unique platform for young innovators and learners to continuously explore the advanced programming field, equipping them with the necessary tools and knowledge to shape the digital future.
Various innovative solutions were presented by the participants during the hackathon including sectors related to human development, environmental development, and digital transformation. Participants also introduced new initiatives and innovations based on modern technology. The five winners were honored by the Enterprise partners (Milaha, Snoonu and KPMG) of the fourth edition of the programming camp, with financial prizes worth 25,000 Qatari Riyals, as an incentive to continue their pursuit towards innovation and software development.
Ms. Eman Al-Kuwari, Director of Digital Innovation Department at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, stated, "Through the programming camp, we aim to empower innovators and creators to think and develop technological creative solutions that lead to positive change in our society." Al-Kuwari added, "The camp's focus on developing programming in the fields of human development, environmental development, and digital transformation reflects the commitment and keenness of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to build a sustainable and advanced future through the use of modern and innovative technologies."
This annual event aims to discover the capabilities of programmers and provide an interactive environment for competitors to develop and enhance the technological capabilities of young people. The Digital Incubation Center at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, works to provide a supportive environment for digital entrepreneurs and offer them opportunities to succeed in their digital projects, thus making them active contributors to building Qatar's digital economy
