Qatar Hosts the 26th Meeting of the GCC e-Government Executive Committee Meeting

The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, hosted the 26th meeting of the GCC e-Government Executive Committee at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. The event was attended by senior officials and heads of e-government bodies from GCC countries.

In her opening speech, Ms. Mashael Ali Al-Hammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Government Affairs at MCIT, emphasized the importance of keeping pace with rapid technological advancements. She highlighted the need to leverage digital technology opportunities to enhance joint government services and stressed the significance of cooperation and coordination among GCC countries. She also stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination among GCC countries to exchange best practices and develop innovative policies and strategies to advance the digital economy and achieve common goals.

The committee heads and representatives from the GCC countries discussed several key topics on the agenda, including updates on strategic initiatives for joint government services designed to accelerate digital transformation. They also focused on adopting digital solutions and shaping a shared digital future for the region, discussing areas such as artificial intelligence, joint government services, and digital trust services.

Participants further addressed the transfer of tasks and responsibilities of the National Computer Emergency Response and the Digital Trust Services Task Force. They reviewed the report of roundtable discussions on cooperation between the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the General Secretariat's report on implementing the decisions from the committee's 25th meeting. Additionally, they examined the meeting minutes of the Ministerial Committee for E-Government, the Joint Electronic Services Working Group, the Unified Software Procurement Working Group, the Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies Working Group, and the Digital Trust Services Working Group.

In conclusion, the 26th meeting of the GCC e-Government Executive Committee reaffirmed the member states' commitment to enhancing cooperation in e-government, improving government services for citizens, and advancing the digital economy in the region.
