MCIT Concludes the eCommerce Webinar Series with 2,430 Participants

The eCommerce Program of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) concluded its webinar series. The webinars aimed to teach eCommerce merchants about eCommerce fundamentals, best practices, and international standards and address the challenges that eCommerce businesses face. The webinar attendees benefited from Theqa certified SMEs' experiences and success stories, including Fish.qa, Jazp, and Mersal, who participated in the panel discussions.

Over six months, 12 webinars were held in Arabic and English. The webinars covered carefully selected topics to achieve the greatest possible benefits. As an introduction, the series covered the eCommerce ecosystem in Qatar and its benefits. MCIT's eCommerce guidelines followed this, which served as the guiding principles with tips and best practices in setting up an eCommerce store in the country.

Theqa Trustmark was introduced to the audience for the next session. It highlighted the importance of Trustmark on their web shop and the advantages for both the eMerchant and eShoppers.  

Setting your eStore was the focus of the subsequent session. It covered the fundamentals of eCommerce, including strategies and A-Z of web development in a user-friendly detailed format. The session provided its participants with an overview of the eCommerce industry at a regional level with some key facts and buying behaviors insight.

While all the webinars were significant, the digital marketing webinar was the most participated by the attendees. The session focused on Digital Marketing, which included strategies, tools, techniques, and post-covid opportunities. Participants learned how to understand their customers, the various routes and methods to acquire them digitally, and the importance of adaptability.

The last session focused on choosing the suitable eCommerce model through examples and scenarios. The webinar also covered in detail the various approaches, which gave the participants a clear insight into today's most common business approaches. The webinar provides a holistic approach by introducing participants to its MCIT partners in eCommerce, website designs, payment gateway, and logistics providers.

Through the webinars, attendees obtained more information on eCommerce in Qatar by going to the eCommerce portal www.ecommerce.gov.qa and the Theqa portal www.theqa.qa provides you with important information and advice aimed at improving your eCommerce experience.

Further to MCIT's initiative under the eCommerce Program is the Advisory Services. Advisory sessions focused on answering some of the frequently asked questions and guiding the SMEs in their eCommerce journey to overcome their challenges and pursue opportunities present in Qatar's ecosystem.
