HE Mrs Reem Al Mansoori: Qatar has become a regional hub for smart solutions and digital transformation

Doha, Qatar

HE Mrs Reem Mohammed Al Mansoori, Assistant Undersecretary of Digital Society Development at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), emphasized that the State of Qatar is currently turning into a regional hub for smart solutions and digital transformation, with its hosting exclusively in the region the second edition of the events of the Smart City Expo Doha 2022, which is an extension of the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) in Barcelona.

Al Mansoori said that the first edition of the Congress, which was held in 2019, witnessed great success. She viewed the current edition as a unique opportunity for bringing together global experts in the field of smart solutions in the city of Msheireb in the heart of Doha, which embodies technologies and digital solutions, and makes it one of the distinctive smart cities around the world.

She noted that the State of Qatar has an ambitious plan in the field of digital transformation, which began in 2017. She added that this happened when Qatar Smart Program (TASMU) had been launched since a large part of this strategy was achieved, and this includes the Smart Qatar Platform that is the infrastructure and the heart of the program. The platform includes many services at the core of the technological infrastructure, particularly because it is a cloud computing technology, as she said.
