The Information and Communications Technology sector is witnessing great progress in the State of Qatar and contributes to achieving the process of digital transformation in various sectors, and is moving towards enabling the sustainable development process in building a digital economy based on diversity and knowledge in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the directives of HH His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar, as well as the efforts made by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology(MCIT).
At the MCIT, we seek to build a competitive digital society by localizing technology in various sectors, developing digital skills, and empowering them within the community. This is reflected in the Qatar e-Government Portal, which aims to enhance the approach to digital governance, improve government operations' efficiency, and provide faster access to government services. This is done to enhance government performance, increase efficiency and effectiveness, and make it more accessible to individuals and institutions.
The MCIT's main goal is to apply the highest global standards in developing digital infrastructure and contribute to the development of various sectors in the country. Additionally, we aim to create an investment-friendly environment in the telecommunications and information technology sector that attracts foreign investments, which will contribute to the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, encourage creative initiatives among the Qatari community, and promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Accordingly, the Ministry is committed to its role in contributing to supporting the state's progress in supporting the country's journey towards achieving the transformation to a digital economy, building a knowledge-based economy, expanding innovation, developing the ICT sector, and providing advanced services that contribute to national development.
